Summertime Injuries

It’s summer time, and most of us find ourselves participating in activities that allow us to be outside of the house more often. We enjoy sporting events, gardening, power washing the house, running, family time at the lake, swimming, or maybe even biking. All of these activities lend us to certain risks with potential falls, dehydration, heat exhaustion, sprains, and stress fractures.

Before you participate in any of these activities, please remember to take the proper precautions. For example, when riding a bike, wear the proper gear such as a helmet, and make sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. If you plan to be in the sun for any length of time, it’s important that you lather on the sunblock to prevent burns. Young adults who participate in sporting events should always warm up before any type of activity or exercise. Stress fractures, ankle and knee sprains plague so many during this time of year, but can be avoided by taking simple precautionary measures.

Should you experience any of these injuries, however, please call us for an appointment at 501-319-7659 or visit www.gallowaytherapy.com. We will help you get results in rehabilitation.
