Exercise is great, but what about pathology?

Exercise regiments that are found in magazines are helpful in finding quick, simple activities that can be performed with little to no cost and with minimal instruction. However, if you have any pathology involved, such as a herniated disc or rotator cuff tear, certain activities may not only be non-beneficial, but actually exacerbate your condition.
